# Passkeys

> Add passkeys to log in to the console without a password or a two-factor code, and remove the ones you no longer use.

A **passkey** lets you log in with Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello, your phone or a security key instead of a password. It counts as [two-factor authentication](https://perfgrid.com/docs/console/security/two-factor-authentication.md), also for billing accounts that require it.

> Console passkeys only work for the console. Passkeys for the [Grid Hosting panel](https://perfgrid.com/docs/grid-hosting/profile/passkeys.md) are separate.

## Add a passkey

**1. Open Password and 2FA**

In the sidebar, open **Security** > **Password and 2FA** and confirm your password.

**2. Click Add passkey**

Under **Passkeys**, click **Add passkey**.

**3. Name it and register it**

Change the **Passkey name** if you like, click **Register passkey** and follow your device's prompt.

You can add several, for example one on your laptop and one on your phone.

## Log in with a passkey

On [console.perfgrid.com/login](https://console.perfgrid.com/login), click **Log in with a passkey** and confirm with your device. You don't enter your email address, password or a code.

When a page asks you to **Confirm password**, or a billing account shows **Two-factor authentication required**, you can click **Confirm with passkey** instead.

## Remove a passkey

Under **Passkeys**, click the delete button on the passkey's row, then **Remove passkey**. This doesn't remove it from your device or password manager.

>
> Keep another way to log in before you remove a passkey: your password, and an authenticator app or another passkey if a billing account you use requires two-factor authentication.
