PHP 8.4 now available on all our hosting plans

We're happy to announce that the full rollout of PHP 8.4 across all our hosting plans has been completed. This applies to both Grid Hosting and cPanel offerings.

This upgrade brings performance improvements and a few new features over PHP 8.3

Grid Hosting: PHP 8.4 support was implemented on January 29th, 2025
cPanel Hosting: PHP 8.4 support was implemented on February 16th, 2025

New accounts and domains are now automatically provisioned with PHP 8.4. Existing domains retain their current PHP version. We however always encourage you to upgrade to the latest stable version of PHP, both for performance and security reasons.

An easy way to upgrade:

• Grid Hosting: Go to the Domains section, and edit each domain, where you can then select the PHP version you want to use.
• cPanel: Go to "MultiPHP Manager" and select PHP 8.4 for the domain(s) you want to upgrade.

Key features in PHP 8.4:

Performance improvements: As with almost all new versions of PHP, there's a focus on performance improvements. Overall we see roughly 4-5% performance improvement over PHP 8.3 for generic websites.

New Features: A bunch of new features has been included such as:

• new array_find, array_find_key, array_any and array_all functions
• property hooks has been implemented
• new HTML5 support for the DOM parser
