Launching Patchstack for WordPress on Grid Hosting
We've integrated Patchstack into our Grid Hosting plans, and we're excited to announce that the first release is now in production. Below you'll find some information about Patchstack and what this security solution can do for your website.
What's Patchstack?
Patchstack is a security solution built to protect websites from vulnerabilities, with a specific focus on WordPress plugins. It's designed to protect against threats with speed and precision.
Patchstack runs one of the largest bug bounty programs for WordPress. Security researchers can responsibly disclose vulnerabilities through Patchstack, which then coordinates with plugin vendors to ensure timely fixes.
Ethical hackers can get paid for reporting security vulnerabilities and Patchstack assists them with the entire process, including triage and working with vendors.
They can also create virtual patches called RapidMitigate, that protect websites up to 48 hours before a vulnerability is publicly disclosed.
How does it work?
Patchstack works through a WordPress plugin called Patchstack Security. You simply install the plugin and activate it with a license key we provide. The plugin then connects to the Patchstack infrastructure, sending a list of all your installed themes and plugins.
The plugin then synchronizes a set of mitigation rules with your site, targeting only the specific vulnerabilities present based on your themes and plugins. This ensures your site is protected where needed, with zero false positives and no performance impact.

Who's Patchstack for?
We recommend Patchstack for websites where uptime and security are mission-critical. For example, if you run an e-commerce website, Patchstack provides instant protection that can save you from costly downtime.
If you're running a smaller personal blog or similar, or you're always keeping your plugins up to date as soon as they release, then Patchstack will have little to no benefit for you, making it an unnecessary expense.
But you already offer Imunify360 and Monarx, why do I need Patchstack?
That's correct. All our servers are already protected by the Imunify360 Security Suite and Monarx malware scanning. Imunify360 provides a wide range of protections, including WAF, Brute-force protection and Webshield capabilities, while Monarx provides excellent malware scanning.
While Imunify360 provides WAF rules for many vulnerabilities, its updates can sometimes be slower and may not cover everything. Patchstack bridges this gap by delivering protection much faster. Because Patchstack is a bug bounty program and vulnerability company, it often receives information about security threats before anyone else in the industry, leading to significantly quicker resolution times.
Monarx acts as a reactive solution. It's designed to clean up your site after a compromise, such as when a hacker gains unauthorized access through leaked credentials or FTP. Its job is to prevent malware from spreading and causing further damage.
How do I start using it?
Patchstack requires a license, which costs €4/month per website at launch with plans to lower the price as we onboard more customers. The license can be purchased at https://billing.perfgrid.com/cart.php?gid=addons and it's stackable, meaning you can simply add a quantity of 3 if you e.g. want to protect 3 websites.
After you've purchased the add-on, it will get provisioned to your account, and you can then enable it for any of your domains in Grid Hosting by going to https://hosting-panel.net/tools/patchstack
Install the WordPress Plugin Patchstack Security and provide the license key you get on the page.
Note: Patchstack licenses follow the same billing cycle as your hosting plan (prorated). If you cancel early, we will credit any unused months for these licenses to your account for future invoices.
